Hiking, Waterfalls & Winter Fun:
Carpenters Falls: Great trails on the west side of the lake, approximately 20 minute drive. Two waterfalls and a trail that leads all the way to the lake. Definitely slippery after rains or melting snow so be careful!
Hinchcliff Family Preserve: The 206-acre Hinchcliff Family Preserve peers over the eastern shore of Skaneateles Lake offering impressive vistas, and diverse habitats
Charlie Major Nature Trail: Local, fairly short trail with a beautiful creek and small falls. Skaneateles Brewery & The Distillery are located along the trail! Dogs welcome!
Taughannock Falls on Cayuga: Beautiful extremely high falls and easy hike/walk from parking. Travel time is approx. 1 1/4 hour. You many wish to visit Buttonwood Grove Winery during your trip - its one of our favorites! Both the hike and winery are dog friendly!
Watkins Glenn: An absolute must if you have more than a day or are on your way east. Amazing gorges and waterfalls. The little town of Watkins Glen has some nice shops and restaurants or combine it with some wine tasting! The gorge trail closes off season so be sure to check their website for more info.
Song & Labrador Ski Resorts: Ski & Dine at Upstate New York's most characteristic mountains! Super fun in the summer & fall as well!
Baltimore Woods: Snow shoe rental, cross country skiing and year-round hiking!

Dickens Festival: (Weekends late November through Christmas Eve)Step back in time and enjoy the holidays the old-fashioned way with Dickens Christmas. An annual tradition, the celebration begins the day after Thanksgiving and runs every Saturday and Sunday through December 23, from noon to 4 pm, plus December 24 from noon - 2:30 pm. Charles Dickens and his cast of over 40 characters will interact with residents and visitors in the streets, stores, and restaurants. Don't miss lively acts at the Gazebo, live music, unique shopping, wonderful food, and horse and wagon rides around the Village.
